About Nature's Way Fine Art Photography

At a young age I became fascinated with the trout in the small brook where I spent my summers. The red efts in the forest attracted my eyes and attention. I became feverish with exploration. As I grew a little older, I wandered. Soon my father's old, abandoned, 200 acre farm became too familiar a territory, so I wandered into the adjoining forest preserve in the Catskill Mountains of New York. As a young man I worked as a forestry technician and then moved to the Adirondack Mountain region to serve as a forest ranger. All this time I carried a camera to record the beauty of my daily work environment.

My father instilled in me the importance of understanding nature and mankind's effect on it. He gave me my first camera forty five years ago when I was a boy. This allowed me to record my explorations for others to see.

Now that my career in the forest has passed, I decided to return to school to learn the fine art of photography. I spent many years studying part time and earned a B.A. in Studio Art in 2007. I since have studied independently with my photography professor who taught me how to see the beauty in photographic images, just as my father taught me to see the beauty in nature.
